The next war may not come until 2025, but the United States has plenty of time to prepare.
And in the next three years, the United State could see an escalation in hostilities with China, or it may face a nuclear crisis that could trigger an arms race.
That’s according to the chief of the U,S.
Pacific Command, Lt.
Gen. Christopher Bogdan, who made the warning in a speech to the House Armed Services Committee.
“I would say by the middle of this year, I think we’ll see a series of events that could lead to a very serious escalation,” Bogdan said in an interview Wednesday at the Pentagon.
“That will be the first time since the end of the Cold War that a major conflict will erupt in the Asia-Pacific region.
That is a very significant event, and we’re going to have to prepare for that.”
