I work in a software development studio that I built out of my own savings.
It’s a small business with a couple hundred employees and a clientele of young, tech-savvy people.
I’m also a dad of two, and my wife works part-time.
For months, I was a silent partner.
When I did leave my job at the start of 2017, it wasn’t because I felt like I had no options, or because I wanted to start a family.
It was because I didn’t have the time or the flexibility to put a lot of my time and energy into making a career for myself.
The problem, I realized, was that the company didn’t really care about me.
When you work in an organization that’s focused on making sure everyone gets a job, you don’t necessarily want to have any input on the decisions that are made about who gets a good job.
That’s a huge part of the reason why I quit, and that’s a big part of why the people who are now working for me are not happy with me.
And that’s why, in the days ahead, I’ll be taking this opportunity to address that issue head-on, with my new venture, a new venture that is designed to make my life as simple as possible.
A new startup called “We’re All in This Together” is launching this week to help people navigate the corporate culture and the politics that surround them.
